Jewelry Making – Handworked Copper Bracelets

Description

Very special guest teacher, Rocky Pardo, leads this 4-day workshop to teach you how to make a 2" wide copper cuff bracelet!

Students will learn the following skills:
Cutting, drilling, filing, hammering (Day 1-2)
forming, color on metal (Day 3-4)

Students will learn to use the following tools:
Jewelers saw
Steel block
Bench block and/or pin
Bench flex shaft
Bracelet mandrel (oval or round)  
Assorted jewelry files
Rawhide mallet (for forming without marring) 
Ball peen hammer or chasing hammer (round end for round hammer marks)
Cross peen or larger riveting hammer (large knife edge side for making lined hammer marks)
Regular hammer
Interchangeable texture hammer
Assorted stamps – shapes, designs, letters/numbers

This four-day course meets from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, every day, from July 10th through July 13th.


Cost: $90 per student

The cost of this class includes studio time, access to all the equipment and tools in our studio, plus in-depth instruction, as well as the cost of materials and other necessities.

Teacher Registration

Teachers working for a school in the Regional Office of Education, District #40 can register with the ROE and they will cover your class fees and award you Continuing Professional Development Units (CPDUs) for taking this class. After filling out our registration using the form below, you will need to also register with ROE by following this link to their calendar of events and finding this workshop on their schedule.
Registration with ROE must be confirmed before beginning this workshop.
