Eco Dyeing

In this one shot class, you will learn the process of eco dying! It’s like tie dying but with plants! Come hang out, bring a drink and enjoy the fun! Adult students will be using silk scarfs and natural materials (aka leaves, flowers and rusty bits) to create a dyed artwork.
The process involves soaking fabric in tannin water. Laying out plant material. Covering with another cotton fabric dipped in iron water then steamed in water.
You will walk away with one silk scarf.

Instructor, Ru Ritter is a self-taught experimenter of Eco Dyeing and printing with natural dyes, and printing methods on fiber and paper. The element of surprise is always present when working with Mother Nature as she leaves interesting marks and colors. Join in the adventure and you're sure to be delighted.

This one-shot meets from 6 to 8pm, on Friday July 20th.
