Description

Ages: adults, and kids ages 10 & up

Learn the art of Mishima!
Working with pre-made, 8-inch diameter, clay slab plates – students will cut into the leather-hard clay surface, and then inlay black slip (clay and water) into the design.

The MAC will add a clear glaze to the surface and kiln-fire students’ work for no additional charge. Pieces will be available for pickup per The MAC’s kiln-firing schedule (minimum of two weeks).

If you wish to add more detailed glazework to your piece, you can leave it unglazed at the end of class and return at a later time to take advantage of Open Studio time at a cost of $5 per hour.

This one-shot class meets 11:00am to 2:00pm, Saturday, June 1st.

Cost: $30 per student
$10 per additional plate (very limited quantities)

The cost of this class includes studio time, access to all the equipment and tools in our studio, plus in-depth instruction, as well as the cost of materials and other necessities.
Please let us know in the ‘message’ section of your registration if you will want additional plates.
