Join instructor, Brandace Cloud, for this guided ceramics workshop. You will learn, step-by-step, how to build a functional teapot or coffee carafe from slabs of clay decorated with a transferred image made of colored clay and water.
This three-week course meets from 6 to 8pm on Thursdays – November 30th, December 7th, and December 14th.
NOTE: Finished pieces will be fired after the last night of class and be available for pickup the following week, no later than December 22nd.
The cost of this class includes two hours of studio time per week for six weeks with access to all the equipment and tools in our clay studio, plus in-depth instruction from a professional ceramic artist, as well as the cost of clay, glazes, and kiln firings.
Instructor Bio, Brandace Cloud:
Brandace is executive director at The Macoupin Art Collective. She has an Associate of Art degree in Graphic Design from Lewis & Clark Community College, a Bachelor of Art degree from Webster University, and attended post-graduate studies in the ceramics department at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. Brandace has worked as a self-employed ceramic artist, selling her wares at various art fairs and exhibitions. She has years of experience as an art educator, teaching clay classes and workshops for children, adults, and various community organizations. She has also worked as a pre-school art teacher at the Angela Cassens Early Childhood Development Center in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
