Functional Clay – June 27th and 29th

from 20.00

Learn the basics of clay construction, including the use of tools and the vocabulary associated with the medium.

Your child will learn to create functional ceramic pieces out of clay! Our instructors will teach older kids how to roll out slabs of clay, and how to use a template to cut out different shapes that they will then turn into functional pots, like plates, bowls, and cups. Tiny humans will explore the material the first day, figuring out how clay works and what they can do to manipulate the material. The second day we will make functional pieces out of clay.

The MAC offers three Functional Clay classes for varying age groups. Each group will meet on Tuesday, June 27th, and Thursday, June 29th. Classes are $20 per week for tiny humans, and $30 per week for kids in grades K-8.Times are as follows:

  • 10am-noon – grades 3-8
  • 2:30-3:00pm – pre-K, ages 2-5

  • 3:30-5:30pm – grades K-2

NOTE: Finished clay work has to stay at The MAC to dry and be fired. Pots will be available for pickup any time after Thursday July 6th.
