Sculptural Clay – July 18th and 20th

from 20.00

Learn the basics of clay construction, including the use of tools and the vocabulary associated with the medium.

Your child will learn to use clay to make sculptural ceramic pieces! Older kids will start their sculptures the first day of class. We will let the work dry until our next session, when we will refine the final piece and add glaze while the clay is still ‘green’ (unfired). Tiny humans will explore the material the first day, figuring out how clay works and what they can do to manipulate the material. The second day we will make sculptural pieces out of clay.

The MAC offers three Sculptural Clay classes for varying age groups. Each group will meet on Tuesday, July 18th, and Thursday, July 20th. Classes are $20 per week for tiny humans, and $30 per week for kids in grades K-8.Times are as follows:

  • 10am-noon – grades 3-8
  • 2:30-3:00pm – pre-K, ages 2-5

  • 3:30-5:30pm – grades K-2

NOTE: Finished clay work has to stay at The MAC to dry and be fired. Pots will be available for pickup any time after Thursday July 27th.
