You can bring your own supplies, or use the materials and tools in our general crafting area at no additional charge.
Come in at your leisure and make something!
Open Studio time is meant to be flexible and individualized, but available times vary and the usual $5/hour fee may not cover access to specialized equipment or expensive materials. Contact us via the form below if you would like to start a conversation about using our space for your specific purposes.
Or just take a chance during regular hours (Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-6pm) to stop by and see if we have room for you to work at that moment.
Open Studio Monthly Membership
Winter is the perfect time to hang out in our nice warm studios and work on your craft. Right now, you can take advantage of a monthly studio membership at half-price, and escape the chill outside!
$45 gets you one month of free access to our studios, any time during regular hours, as long as space is available.
Membership also grants you a discount on any of our scheduled classes! Studio fees ($5 per hour) are factored into all of our classes, and members never pay studio fees!
In addition to regular open-studio hours, we are open late on Tuesdays specifically for experienced ceramic artists, which includes anyone who has taken one of our multi-session ceramics classes. We also schedule certain times in the studio when an instructor will be present to demonstrate their techniques. Check out our complete class calendar for scheduling information.
Drop-In Clay Studio
Every Tuesday night from 6-8pm, we have at least one experienced ceramic artist on hand to answer questions, offer guidance, and help you create your own ceramics pieces.
This self-guided Open Studio time is designed for adults with ceramics experience, who want to hang out with a great group of regulars, inspiring and helping one another to create their best work.
In addition to the usual fee of $10 for two hours of studio time, visitors to our clay studio can pay for clay, glazes, and kiln space at a cost of $25 for every 25 pounds of clay used.
Every other Wednesday, Mr. Brian will be on hand to show you how turn scrap bits of paper into brand new full sheets of handmade paper, which you can then use for all sorts of other craftsy projects.
In addition to the usual fee of $10 for two hours of studio time, visitors will pay an additional $2 for instruction and materials.
Build a Birdhouse With Mr. Brian
Every Saturday from 10am-4pm, The MAC's resident woodworker, Mr. Brian, will show you how to use a hammer, nails, and other common woodshop tools to turn a pile of pre-cut wood into a working birdhouse.
Mr. Brian will direct several one-hour workshops throughout the day, and you can stop in at whatever time works for you.
In addition to the usual fee of $5 for one hour of studio time, visitors will pay an additional $5 for instruction and materials.
