Wheel Throwing:

We can teach up to 10 students* at a time how to throw on a pottery wheel!

The ArtBus has 10 tabletop wheels that can be set up outside with a provided electric source or inside your building as well. We provide the clay and will walk students through the techniques and process of throwing on the wheel. Students will then apply glaze to their completed pot and we will take these to the MAC for firing. We will contact you when your pots are available for pick up, this is usually within 2 weeks! We do request that you or your organization be able to come pick up your pots at this time.

*If you have 10 plus students we can work with a simplified experience and create a rotating schedule.

Approximate Project Time:

Required Number of Volunteers per 10 students: 3

Additional Information: Earthenware clay: This clay is food safe. 2 weeks to fire pots, pick-up at the MAC is required. OR Airdry clay: With advanced notice we could acquire airdry clay that can be sent home with students that day, but airdry clay is not food safe.
