Tie Dyeing - Beginner Patterns • Saturday February 17 • 11:00am - 1:00pm

Ms. Bonnie will teach students how to mix fiber reactive dyes, prep fabric or garments for dyeing, and how to fold simple patterns like hearts, spirals, spiders, and geodes. Learn how to rinse out dye so colors remain bright. Bring your own items from home that are 100% cotton and prewashed.

Batik Techniques

Students will learn to apply a hot wax resist to fabric surface then paint with dye to create unique textures and painted images on fabric. Bring your own items from home that are 100% cotton and prewashed.


Low Water Immersion Dyeing Techniques

Humans ages 10 & up
Low Water Immersion Dyeing • Saturday April 13 • 3-5pm

Students will learn how to prep fabric and dye in a tub or small container to achieve mottled and marbled patterns. Great for quilting fabric or silk scarves. Bring your own items from home that are 100% cotton and prewashed.

Sewing Basics

Humans ages 10 & up

Ms. Bonnie will teach students the basics of hand sewing and machine sewing to make a simple project or mend items from home.  Students may bring in their sewing machine from home or  use one of the MAC’s.  Students will learn how to hand sew buttons and hand stitches for hemming or repairs.  Students will learn how to thread and set up a sewing machine.  Students can choose a simple project to sew such as a pillow, hair scrunchie, or pin cushion.  Or students can mend or alter items from home with help from an expert seamstress.
