Introduction to Wheel Throwing

Satisfy your curiosity, and experience a fun and thorough introduction to throwing on the potter’s wheel. Learn the skills necessary to throw cylinders, cups, bowls and more in this exciting introduction to throwing fundamentals. Jim or Teresa will guide you through the process of throwing, shaping and trimming pots on the wheel. Basic surface decoration and glazing techniques are also demonstrated. This class is designed for students with little or no experience on the potter’s wheel. Although we can accommodate students with experience.

Various clay tools

Materials we will use: (All materials are included)
EM100- low fire earthenware clay
Various low fire glazes

One Shot Wheel Throwing

Ages 13+

Cost: $50/1 week class

First time at the wheel? Ever wanted to try wheel throwing?
Now's your chance!

Join us for a one day, 3 hour session where we’ll walk you through the basics of wheel throwing. Lumpy pots and goofy bowls galore. No extended commitment necessary. Give it a shot and see if you like it! You’ll throw 3-4 pieces on the wheel and will pick them up 2-3 weeks later (after they’re dried, fired, and glazed!).
Classes are limited to 8 participants and students must be 16 years of age or older.

All work will be food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe!

Each person is responsible for taking pictures of their own work. When you pick up the work- have those pictures with you to help you identify your artworks.

PLEASE NOTE: All ceramic artworks not picked up within 45 days after your last class will be discarded and no refunds will be given.
